KNIGHTS ALL ROUNDER PATRICK BOTHA SHARES HIS SOUNDTRACK TO LIFE

BLOEMFONTEIN, SOUTH AFRICA - FEBRUARY 21: Patrick Botha ok

As the Knights wrap up their 2024/25 T20 Challenge campaign in seventh place, their attention now turns to the upcoming 4-Day Series.

Set to take on Goldrush Boland in Paarl for their first red-ball match this week, the Bloemfontein-based team is ready to shift gears.

But before diving into the action, we caught up with all-rounder, Patrick Botha to talk about his personal favourites in TV, music, and entertainment. Here’s a glimpse of what keeps Botha inspired off the field:

If you could have a jam session with any musician before a game, who would it be?

“Definitely Chris Martin from Coldplay; he’s such a serious entertainer. I saw him live once, and it was an unbelievable experience. Plus, he seems like a ‘lekker’ guy—someone you’d want to hang out with before stepping onto the field.”

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Easy: Toto’s “Africa.”

“It’s a song that’s close to home and always will be. There’s something about it that never gets old—it’s timeless.”

What’s one movie or TV series you wish your life was like?

“It would be Shooter. I got really hooked on the series.  The way Bob Lee Swagger has to fight to clear his name is just quality. There’s that grit and determination to overcome adversity—something any athlete can relate to.”

As Patrick Botha gears up for the 4-Day Series, his eclectic taste in music and entertainment reveals a man who balances intensity with a love for good vibes.

Whether it’s the raw emotion of Eminem or the feel-good energy of Coldplay, Botha has found his rhythm both on and off the field.
